Jody Kent has more than 15 years of experience in marketing communications, public relations and marketing research. Before co-founding Ceres Strategic Communications, Jody owned the Kent Company, where she successfully delivered results for seven years to clients across the corporate, public and political spectrum, including clients in the technology, health care, development, education and government sectors.

Jody previously served as vice president of strategy and research at Growth Strategies Group, where she managed, developed and implemented a diverse array of marketing and public relations initiatives. Jody was also marketing director at Showcase Home Entertainment, where she developed and managed the marketing and public relations strategies for a $25 million start-up company. In addition, she served as marketing manager at Low & Associates, a social marketing firm headquartered in Washington, D.C.
 
Jody holds a bachelor’s degree in International Economics from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio and a master’s degree in Political Psychology from Arizona State University. She received her focus group moderator training at the RIVA Training Institute in Bethesda, Md., and is a graduate of Valley Leadership Class of XXVI. She was selected by the Phoenix Business Journal as a 2002 “Forty Under 40” of up-and-coming leaders. She spent six weeks in India in 2006 as a Rotary ambassador and served on the United Way’s Teen Health, Diversity Tolerance Funding Committee for three years. Through Thunderbird University’s Artemis Project, Jody is mentoring a woman entrepreneur in Afghanistan. She also coaches a group of high school girls in a social change project through the “Girls for a Change” program.
